OpenSound Navigator™
opens up the world

Upgraded OpenSound Navigator — a breakthrough in handling multiple speakers simultaneously

OpenSound Navigator makes it easier for your patients to take part in the world. People with hearing loss can now enjoy a full, balanced soundscape across all listening environments. This technology available in Oticon Opn S™, Oticon Xceed and Oticon Opn™ helps patients locate and separate speakers so they can focus on what they find most important.

With Opn S and Xceed, a new Very High setting offers even more help in everyday situations to those patients who need it most. Patients also have the option to select extra support from OpenSound Navigator, regardless of their pre-defined setting. Whenever patients feel they need an extra boost, they can activate the OpenSound Booster, available in the Oticon ON App.

OpenSound Navigator

Three steps in a split second

OpenSound Navigator handles multiple, dynamic speech and noise sources. Unlike conventional technology, it treats sound sources individually – without treating all other sounds as noise.

In a split second, it gives the brain accurate information in the way it naturally makes sense of sound.

Step 1

Soundscape analysis at more than 100/sec

OpenSound Navigator analyzes sounds in a 360° radius at more than 100 times per second to determine the nature of the setting.

Once that is established, it analyzes the sounds to accurately determine their characteristics, importance, position, level and frequency.

Step 2

The full sound picture in perfect balance

To ensure users feel at ease in the environment, OpenSound Navigator balances surrounding sounds. This leaves the focus sound clear and background sounds audible, but not distracting.

Rebalancing individual sounds makes it easier for users to separate sounds and for the brain to switch attention.

Step 3

Noise reduction so fast, it cleans noise between words

OpenSound Navigator cleans excessive background noise in a 360° radius quickly and effectively – even noise coming from the same direction as speech.

To ensure background noise does not intrude on the listening experience, it can even remove noise between words.

Noise reduction can be adjusted to meet individual needs in simple and complex environments.
