A hearing aid consists of several parts, many of which should be cleaned and maintained regularly.
Your ear canal produces ear wax which may clog up the earpiece. Use the wax protection system and tools to clean away any accumulated wax each day.
When you need a fresh, clean dome, remove the existing dome and put on a new one.
If there is no sound in the hearing aid or the sound output is reduced, this may have been caused by a clogged damper and it should be replaced.
Typically, a battery will keep a hearing aid powered for three to ten days before it needs replacing, depending on usage and the hearing aid style. You may hear a few short beeps when it is time to change the battery.
By following a few simple guidelines for handling, using and storing your hearing aids, you can limit their exposure to heat, humidity, chemicals or hard impact, and make sure they stay in good working condition.
