2022 Focus on
People Awards

The Oticon Focus on People Awards recognize outstanding people who are helping to show that hearing loss does not limit a person’s ability to make a positive difference in their families, communities, or the world.

Life-changing technology opens a world of possibilities for people with hearing loss. The Oticon Focus on People Awards honor the remarkable individuals who have turned those possibilities into realities to make the world a better place for all of us. This one-of-a-kind national awards competition has honored more than 300 outstanding people with hearing loss from across the US.

Winners in each of the four categories receive prizes and national recognition that creates awareness, changes attitudes and opens doors of opportunity for all people with hearing loss.

Thank you for casting your vote for the 2022 Focus on People Awards!

We are tallying the votes now and will announce the winners in February. Stay tuned!

Student Finalists

The Student category is open to full-time students with hearing loss, ages 6–25. Nominees are judged on their accomplishments in a whole range of community, athletic, academic and social activities. How can someone so young have accomplished so much? Read the stories of our three remarkable students to see for yourself.

Adult Finalists

The Adult category, open to people with hearing loss, ages 21 and up, represents our most diverse group of achievers. Nominees in the adult category are evaluated on their professional, volunteer, cultural and civic endeavors. This year’s finalists share a passion to make the world a better place, not only for people with hearing loss but for everyone.

Advocacy Finalists

The Advocacy category honors hearing impaired individuals of all ages who are actively involved in advocacy or support efforts that benefit people with hearing loss. Our Advocacy finalists share an optimism and a ‘can do’ attitude that inspires and motivates — whether they are trying to change public attitudes or just one person’s life. Read their stories and capture a little of that spirit for your own life.

Hearing Care Practitioner Finalists

The Practitioner category recognizes hearing care professionals who go "above and beyond" to open doors of opportunity for people with hearing loss through humanitarian and public education efforts. Nominees in the Practitioner category are not required to have a hearing loss to qualify. Discover how these dedicated hearing care professionals promote awareness and understanding of hearing loss in their communities and the world.
