Oticon Government Services Celebrates Homes for Our Troops Donation of Specially Adapted Custom Home for Severely Injured Veteran

SOMERSET, NJ
29 March 2023

Oticon Government Services joined with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), government and military officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly-built specially adapted custom home for medically retired Marine Corporal Daniel Lasko. Since 2017, Oticon Government Services has been a proud supporter of the national non-profit’s work of building and donating specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, enabling them to rebuild their lives. At the March 18 celebration in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania, Government Services team members presented Cpl. Lasko and his family with a gas grill, as a special housewarming gift.

“We are proud to partner with Homes For Our Troops in helping to advance recovery and rebuild lives for American heroes, like Corporal Lasko,” said Oticon National Sales Director Candace Depp, AuD. “Each day, through Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, Oticon works to provide life-changing hearing technology that improves hearing and quality of life for Veterans and active-duty military personnel. Joining in events, like today’s celebration, provides another way for our team to show support and appreciation for the sacrifices made by our nation’s Veterans.”

Following a flag raising and color guard presentation, the Lasko family welcomed visitors to tour their new home. In 2004, Cpl. Lasko lost his left leg below the knee and sustained a traumatic brain injury and other injuries on a recon mission with the 22nd Marine Service Support Group for the 22nd Marine Expeditionary in Afghanistan. The specially adapted custom home will provide Cpl. Lasko, his wife Jess, and their two sons, Luke and Ben, peace of mind and enable them to look forward.

About Homes For Our Troops (HFOT): Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services supporting Veterans. For more information, visit www.hfotusa.org.
