Extended Bandwidth

Broad bandwidth hearing devices deliver a fuller range of sound, up to 10,000 Hz to the hearing impaired. In general people prefer higher bandwidth instruments for better sound quality which provides a greater sense of naturalness.

Binaural Processing

Oticon’s advanced wireless communication transfers data between 2 hearing devices allowing them to work together, intelligently coordinating compression. The hearing instruments are constantly processing and exchanging data on the listening environment.

Binaural Synchronization

Wireless technology intelligently synchronizes automatics, noise reduction and directionality to preserve speech intelligibility in all listening situations.

Binaural Coordination

Volume and program changes made on one instrument are transferred to the other instrument via the wireless communication between the 2 hearing instruments.

Floating Linear Gain

A first of its kind signal processing technology based on linear adaptive amplification which delivers an undistorted, natural response.

Spatial Noise Management

The hearing devices continuously analyze the input signal for speech, speech in noise and noise only. Based on the analysis the best sound processing for that environment is chosen to enhance speech understanding. If speech is not detected then attenuation is increased to maximize comfort. If speech is detected, the amount of noise reduction is applied differentially depending on the actual noise level in each channel.

Binaural DFC2

By combining input detectors in both ears the DFC system is able to detect and eliminate false positive feedback occurrences. DFC2 incorporates the howl remover, stabilizer and dynamic and feedback cancellation which relies upon phase cancellation to remove the feedback before it develops into whistling.

Improved Customization through Learning & Adaptation

Learning takes advantage of the automatic features and advanced processing to customize the instrument to the individual wearers daily routine.

Identities

Identities combine all the automatic functions of a hearing instrument to match the listening needs of the user. The following systems are prescribed differently in each identity: Compression Strategy, Noise Management and Directionality. Identities are used to change the speed and magnitude of response, reacting to changes in the environment thus providing the optimal hearing solution for the user.
