Spatial Sound 2.0

Spatial Sound 2.0 helps users organise sounds, know where they come from, and make sense of their surroundings effortlessly and intuitively.

Based on revolutionary technologies found only in Oticon Agil Pro, Spatial Sound 2.0 increases the user’s ability to organise sounds.

In many everyday situations – like walking through the city or having dinner at home with the family – hearing instrument users know how demanding it can be to organise and select the many sounds and voices competing for their attention.

Spatial Sound 2.0 changes all that. By preserving more of the naturally occurring spatial cues found in acoustic environments, Spatial Sound 2.0 enables the user to determine where sounds originate from, whether a particular sound is important, or if it can be neglected. This ability is fundamental to organising the acoustic environment.

A new, superior Spatial Noise Management system in Oticon Agil Pro helps the natural human ability to “know where to listen”. In situations with loud noise on one side and speech on the other, Oticon Agil Pro gives priority to the speech side and noise reduction is applied on the noise side. Spatial Noise Management is controlled by intelligent automatics within Oticon Agil Pro.

Spatial Sound 2.0 components

Spatial Sound 2.0 has four basic components: Extended bandwidth, open ear fittings, RITE technology and binaural processing.

All four components contribute to preserving important spatial cues. In sound environments with dominating noise on one side of the head, a fifth component, Spatial Noise Management helps the user focus attention to the ear with the best signal.
