Technological innovations must provide true user benefits

In our experience, only when specialist technological knowledge is coupled with solid end-user insights, can we truly unleash creativity and design the most innovative hearing solutions: those that fulfil our audiological ambition to empower users to participate freely and actively in life.

That is why users and their needs are always the starting point when our multidisciplinary development teams embark on new innovations – whether they are for digital integrated circuits, wireless technology or new algorithms.

Our innovation teams continuously explore new possibilities for future improvement, for example new binaural algorithms or spatial algorithms. And because even the most sophisticated idea is worthless unless it actually benefits users in real life, we ask end-users to test and validate new potential algorithms – often as early as ten years ahead of the product launch. This approach enables us to identify the ideas with the greatest potential early in the process and focus our efforts from the start.

RISE 2 is the most recent example of our technological innovations empowering end-users. Improving computing power over preceding chip platforms significantly, RISE 2 is the ideal engine to run new features like Speech Guard and Spatial Sound 2.0. This pioneering technology preserves the natural characteristics of speech and enriches sound quality – while keeping power consumption and battery size to the minimum.
